Mathieu Massat and Pierre Guillaume met in 2000 at the Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués (Paris 5). Soon after they formed the Bowling club to explores new methods of creation in various fields. With of a strong interest for swiss design, they go to zurich where their ideas to work autonomously and on new methods of design were confirmed. The duo carries projects : edition, video, stage design and installation : Nuit Blanche 2004, Fête de la Musique 2004 in the Courtyard of the Palais Royal, Exit Festival, opening night of Lille 2004, European Capital City of Culture.

The Bowling club produce art catalogues including Stéphane Calais, Grégory Forstner, Guillaume Leblon and as well as the visual identity of Territoires Électroniques 2005, the Jocelyn Wolff Gallery.Their work is focused on object design : biospheres, giant glasses pair, coffee table with the shape of a sport car hood, a delorean-skeleton, hologram conducted by an artificial intelligence.

The two artists present an innovative piece of "visual music" during the "D.Day" exhibition at the Pompidou Center in october 2005; This piece was ntegrated to the center's collection in 2007.
They develop installations for Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin... since February 2008 they worked with Junko Shimada producing stage design, books and installations.

Following the Louis Vuitton fashion show, a private party was organised at the Petit Palais to celebrate the opening of the new flagship store on the Champs Elysées in October 2005. Bowling Club conceived an animated film playing on a 40x7 m wall throughout the duration of the evening. Pfadfinderei elaborated a visual live show to go with Pharell Williams' concert. Phormazero's visual performance accompanied Asia Argento, and Kinga created a video for Dita von Teese's striptease.
